2. Simile
3. Metaphor
4. Onomatopoeia
5. Hyperbole

7. Synonym
8. Antonym

10. Idiom
Let me know if there is anything else I can create or add to these posters!
Enjoy!

These are great! Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks!
Thanks for these! They are wonderful!
For some reason, the metaphor one won't come up... any ideas?!
Thanks for letting me know about the metaphor. I'll look into it :)
We just started figurative language this week...thank you, thank you!! These are amazing...and so is your generosity of spirit!! Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for adding to your posters. They are best ones that I have seen and now they I have all of the ones I need. You are very talented!
Hi Mary:
I love these! They are so cute and colorful!
I printed them about 8 seconds after I saw them!
I do have one (tiny) request...
If you ever find yourself in an editing mood... on the simile poster, could you write a sentence instead of a phrase? I'm not trying to be picky or ungrateful. It's just that my kids constantly write run-ons or sentence fragments--and I am always trying to put up sentences from which they can model their own (It hasn't worked yet, but I keep trying!)
Even: Jeremy is as tall as a giraffe... or whoever else you love.
: )
That would make my heart sing (Since I can't figure out how to edit on Scribd) All of the others are just perfect!
Thanks SO much! (I really am appreciative of all the work you did!)

Finding JOY in 6th Grade
Hi Kim,
I updated the poster. Just added, He is as tall as a giraffe. It is uploaded onto Scribd already. Glad I could help!
The slight typo has been fixed, thanks for the heads up! Sometimes when you stare at these things for so long, your eyes tend to go cross! :)
These are so helpful and fun! Thanks for sharing!

I was wondering if you might like to make posters for various text structures like compare/contrast, cause/effect etc.? :)

Awesome posters with great examples. Are you able to include symbolism and imagery?
Hi Mary, I love these posters! I am trying to help my students "spice" up their writing with some figurative language and these posters will help greatly! Thanks!!!

One Teacher's Take
Hi Mary! I've already got these posters - am hanging them in my classroom right now! Thank you for sharing. One thing... I downloaded these before you fixed the "enourmous" on the synonym page, and now I can't access the new one on Scribd. Any chance you could e-mail me the pdf of that one page so I can complete the set?
Thanks again!
Hi Mary- Love the posters, but I having a tough time opening them. Any advice? Thanks- Marykay
These are so helpful! Great visuals, especially for my ELLs. Thank you!
