I had one of those almost crying moments today.
I was giving a goldfish snack to my two lowest students today, both who I love dearly. They are my third graders, both of whom were basically non-readers, level A, at the beginning of the school year. I now have them reading a level G, which is a huge gain considering they both are LD. I took a moment and stopped pouring the goldfish to let them know how proud of them I was.
I said, "Do you know how proud I am of you this school year? I am so proud of all the work you have done and how much you have learned this year."
*Almost cue tears. I had to stop myself and just smile at them because my heart was about to burst with a shower of tears.
The one looks at me and says, "Can you write to let my mom know this?"
I said, "Of course, I would be very happy to."
Good news is that I am looping with my third graders next year as I do another 3/4 split. So I will have the honor of having these two again next year. :)

I love moments like this. There are so many teachers who wear their hearts on their sleeve. I wish the media knew this as much as other teachers do. God Bless-Cindy
We need these moments to keep us going on those bad days. It is great that you blogged about it and so now you have it saved permanently in a place where you can refer back to it in case of emergency.
I am now a keen follower and look forward to connecting with you.
